Hinckley - Big Rock FFA

Hinckley - Big Rock FFA is gearing up for some big events! Join us the week of 2/16 in observing National FFA Week. Throughout this week, both the Middle School and High School are recognizing new members, making toys for Tails Humane Society, providing breakfast for our staff, and creating new memories together as a chapter. On Wednesday, High School students will be traveling to the Elementary School to teach an Ag In The Classroom lesson to grades 1-4. HBR FFA has been working with the Dekalb County Farm Bureau for many years in creating these eye-opening moments within our community. Middle School FFA members are attending the Middle School Mania event at Illinois Valley Community College on Friday to compete in mini challenges based in agriculture. They will be challenged in areas such as Meat Science, Food Science, and a team based activity.

Additionally, our HBR FFA Alumni are selling Florida Strawberries. As we continue to work towards the completion of our FFA Alumni Building, this fundraiser will aid in purchasing materials or services necessary. Our chapter goal is 800 quarts ordered by February 16th! For more information, please contact Debi White via text 630-292-0490, or by email at debi.white2026@gmail.com.

Save the Date for our Annual HBR FFA Banquet on Wednesday, March 11th! This is an evening dedicated to celebrating Hinckley - Big Rock FFA. Our night will begin with dinner and a silent auction from 4:30pm-6:30pm. A meal ticket for 5-B’s will soon be available for purchase for $17 at BP. There will be limited tickets available the night of for $18. Enjoy your meal and silent auction in the High School cafeteria. Unable to attend, but still want to support? There will be a drive thru dinner option available at the front of the High School at the cafeteria doors. Following the dinner portion, we will transition into our Awards from 7pm-8pm. Middle School and High School students will receive recognition for achievements such as their years enrolled in an agriculture course, CDE participation! We will also hear from our Alumni as well as honoring community members involved in our program. Staff, students, parents, and community members are welcome to attend!
