The winter season has concluded and spring has sprung! During the Winter Sports season, we had a lot of great successes. To lead us off is our Girls Programs. Our lady Royals Basketball team had another good season. They started their year off very strong with taking 2nd place at the Keith McIntosh Tournament at IMSA. The girls at each level competed all season long, ultimately falling just short during the IHSA Regional tournament to Marian Central Catholic. Unfortunately, we said goodbye to Coach Bob Barnett as he retired at the end of this season.
Outside of Girls Basketball, the Royalettes and Cheer both had great seasons. The Royalettes competed in their first competition, and learned a ton. They performed each game to different numbers and had fantastic performances all season long. Our Cheer Program developed and learned all season long. An unfortunate injury led to our team not being able to compete in their competitions this season, but we are looking to the future and having a great season next school year.
On the flip side of things, the Boys Basketball program went undefeated during Little 10 Conference play and captured the Regular Season Trophy for the second consecutive year. In the post season, the boys completed the back to back Regional Championships that were hosted here at HBR. This would be the Boys third Regional Championship in the last four years. It was a season of high compete and execution that led us all season long, and our exiting core group of seniors will be missed! They have certainly left the Royals in a better place!
As Spring season is ramping up, we are not only competing against other schools, but Mother Nature. We have had to battle with the elements of cold, wind, and of course the rain. We welcome back our Baseball, Track, and Girls Soccer programs for another great spring season! Lastly, we welcome back to the diamond, Royals Softball!
Come and support all of our Spring Athletic Programs as we compete throughout the spring to close out the 2025-26 school year!
As always, ROYALS REIGN!
