From Home to School and Back Again: Thank you Bus Drivers!

On Bus Driver Appreciation Day, April 28th, we want to take a moment to recognize the dedication and care of our bus drivers.

Every day you are there to care for our students, often before most of us have had our first cup of coffee. You welcome students by name each day onto your bus and wish them well as they return home safely. Those small moments matter more than you probably realize.

You are also a huge part of the experiences our students remember most. You help them travel safely to field trips, games, and events where learning and memories go beyond our classroom walls. Whether it’s an early morning departure or a late-night return, you’re there making it happen.

We know it’s not always easy. You handle tough days with patience, navigating the challenging moments when students are not at their best. You show up and persevere no matter what the weather brings with our students’ safety always top of mind.

And there is so much you do behind the scenes that we don’t always see. Adjusting to last-minute changes, rearranging your own schedules to be there for students, and stepping in to support one another so routes are always covered. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

But maybe most importantly, it’s the little things. The extra kind word to a student who needs it. Returning a forgotten lunchbox. Noticing when something seems off and taking the time to care. Those moments add up in a meaningful way to show genuine care.

This week, we invite students, families, and staff to join us in saying thank you. A kind word, a note, or a smile can make a big impact.

Thank you Hinckley-Big Rock transportation team for your dedication, your flexibility, your teamwork, and the care you show our students every single day. We are truly grateful for all that you do!
