My name is Amanda VerCautren. I’m a mom of a Freshman at Hinckley-Big Rock HS and have a 2021 Graduate of HBR as well. Being a parent of HBR students has been a pretty easy ride. Living in such a small town it’s nice to know that everyone knows pretty much everyone. So, if you need answers, you can always reach out to someone you know to find out. We also have great resources on Facebook. Like The Hinckley Gazette or Hinckley Big Rock Moms pages that you can ask questions. Keep up to date on the Hinckley Big Rock Boosters Facebook page so you know when there are sports games going on.
We moved to Big Rock when my oldest was in Fourth grade and we were greeted with open arms ready to help our girls make sure they had all the resources they needed. Moving from building to building is a very easy transition for kids. No big changes for them. It’s so nice to always have their friends along for the ride.
My oldest was in the IVVC program her Junior and Senior Year and took the Early Education Program, which helped her get an early jump on her college career to become an Elementary Education Major. Please take advantage of these programs if your child is interested.
