November 6th - HBR Staff

 HBR welcomes Ms. Chiappetta

Hi Royals!

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce and thank Ms. Chiappetta for the work she has been doing during the 20-21 school year in all HBR’s school buildings.

When you hear the term speech-language pathologist (SLP), you might think of specialists who help kids with speech sound (articulation) issues. But SLPs do so much more!  A speech-language pathologist is part of a school's student services team.  SLPs take part in the intervention and evaluation process. They work with students who receive related services through an IEP or 504 Plan, as well as students who may need additional intervention in social language skills, writing, reading comprehension, and executive functioning.  We are very excited to have Ms. Chiappetta on our team and she has been a great support for our students and staff!

My name is Anneliese Chiappetta and I am the speech language pathologist for 1st - 8th grade here at HBR! I am new to the district and am very happy to be here! I completed my undergraduate degree at Indiana University (go Hoosiers!) and graduate degree at Western Illinois University (go Leathernecks!).

Some fun facts about me…

  • I have a dog named Lulu.

  • I love outdoor activities! Some of my favorites are hiking, biking, and swimming.

  • I am a big Chicago Blackhawks fan.

  • I love spending time with my family and friends.

I am SO excited to be a part of the HBR community! Everyone has been very welcoming, and I value getting to know staff, students, and families within the district. It is great to see how excited the students and staff are to be back at school. While there are new rules and regulations to follow for safety, the students have been doing an amazing job following all guidelines! I am so impressed by the staff’s dedication to supporting students and enhancing their learning daily.

I am very fortunate to begin and continue my career within the HBR district. Thank you for the opportunity to work alongside you - staff, students, and families! I appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to all the great experiences we will have together this school year!

Go Royals!

What others are saying about Ms. Chiappetta

“I appreciate all the help Ms. Chiappetta give to me when we meet with my academic vocabulary for all my classes, she is also very kind and nice.”  Ileigh N. 6th grade

Check out this video link below from 6th grader Monica. B. where she talks about meeting and working with Ms. Chiappetta at HBRMS.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and if you need something, please ask and we will do our best to help. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents, grandparents, and staff who have served in the military service as we honor our veterans on November 11th.
