As we close the chapter on another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to simply say thank you.
Thank you to our students for their hard work, resilience, and growth. Thank you to our staff for the countless ways they pour into kids every single day. And thank you to our families and community for your continued partnership and support of Hinckley-Big Rock schools. It truly takes a village.
To the Class of 2026 - congratulations! We are incredibly proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Graduation is such an exciting milestone, and while we will certainly miss seeing you in our hallways, we cannot wait to see where life takes you next. Once a Royal, always a Royal. Welcome to the alumni club!
As summer begins, I hope everyone finds time to slow down a bit, recharge, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy all that makes summer special. Whether your plans include travel, camps, ballgames, time outside, or simply catching your breath, I wish each of you a safe, healthy, and happy summer.
While school may be out, there is still plenty happening around HBR this summer! A few important dates to keep on your radar:
July 20–August 6: Early Childhood Summer Program and High School Credit Recovery
August 3–7: Jumpstart Program for K–8 students
August 12: K–4 Supply Drop-Off, 5th Grade Academy, and 9th Grade Academy
August 19: First day of school for 1st-12th
August 20: First full day for Kindergarten and Early Childhood students
We are also excited to continue an important community conversation around technology and kids. I’d like to personally invite families and community members to join us on June 2 for a discussion of The Digital Delusion and the impact that technology plays in the development of our learners. We will offer two opportunities to attend—9:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. at the elementary school. Whether you’ve read the book cover to cover or simply want to learn more and join the conversation, we would love to have you there.
Thank you again for a wonderful school year. We are already excited for what’s ahead and look forward to welcoming everyone back in August. Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and make some great summer memories.
Go Royals!
