HBR Drama Club started this year revitalized and off to a fast start. We have more than 40 members across the Middle and High School eagerly participating week in and week out. The members of HBR Drama Club closed out the first semester with a Showcase of their short skits, duets, and monologues, performing proudly in front of friends, family, and community members. When they were not on stage rehearsing for their Showcase they were learning the essentials of the stage, from projecting their voice to simple lefts, rights, ups, and downs (they’re more confusing than you’d think).
Now that our second semester is underway, HBR Drama Club has begun production on a teen version of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, a comedy that involves over 30 cast members ranging from 5th to 12th grade. This abridged farce involves action, deception, and of course classic Shakespearean comedy. We are always looking for anyone who is willing to donate set pieces, props, or costumes! We will be opening our show to the public in early April, look out for further announcements!
