Energized and Recharged!
This is the first of 34 weekly blogs that are scheduled in the 2021-2022 school year. Did you know that this is the 237th Every Royal's Voice blog that has been written with almost 155,000 views to date? Make sure to check in weekly to gain insight on the happenings at HBR from the perspective of students, staff, and parents.
We are just wrapping up our first week of the 2021-2022 school year and what a week it has been. We have been able to engage in all of our regular activities and what a great site that is to see. This is my 41st first day of school (18 as a student and now 23 as an educator). This is also my wife and I's last first day of school as a parent in the K-12 system. Time sure does fly! The first day never gets old and this one was one of the best. From seeing the HBRES students, staff, and parents on the blacktop...
to seeing the students and staff at HBRMS building relationships including singing happy birthday to Mr. Novotny....
to seeing our students and staff at HBRHS get energized for the start of the year....
it was an all around great day. There are so many pieces of the puzzle that have to fit just right in order for each day to work seamlessly. The first day of school is like any other school day on steroids. A big thanks goes out to all of our staff for making the following happen:
- building and grounds being ready to go
- transportation routes created, followed, and students delivered to school and back home safely
- building and classrooms focused on community building to make sure every student knows that they belong here and are a part of the Royal family
- many other intangibles that just can't be explained

Whether you know this or not, we have 17 new Royal staff members this year. That is 14.4% of our entire staff. After meeting and spending time with all of these new Royals, I am truly excited about the impact they will have. I want to briefly share a face with their name and position. If you see them around, make sure and welcome them.
